Dr. Craig Lamb joined GCC in 2013 and currently serves as the Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs. His higher-education career has been within public colleges and universities including positions at SUNY Empire State College, the University of Connecticut, and Plattsburgh State University. Along with his professional and administrative roles, Craig has taught several college preparatory, student success, and academic skill development courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities for more than a decade.

Craig holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from St. Lawrence University, a Master’s of Science in College and Agency Counseling from Plattsburgh State University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from the University at Albany.  He was recognized in 2011 with a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

Dr. Rafael Alicea-Maldonado (Dr. RAM) was appointed Dean of MSCE on August 2011.  He joined GCC in 2000 as a Chemistry faculty member.  Dr. RAM received the SUNY at Buffalo, Department of Chemistry, Mattern-Tyler Excellence in Teaching Award in 1996. In addition, he received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2005 and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Faculty Service in 2011.

Dr. RAM holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from SUNY at Buffalo.  Dr. RAM enjoys traveling and has visited over 20 countries.

Dr. RAM oversees the following programs: Business and Commerce, Computers and Technology, Health Care, Health and Physical Education, Office Technology and Support, Science and Technology, Economic Crime Investigation, Paralegal Studies, and Liberal Arts and Science: Math & Science. In addition, he shares responsibility for Individualized Studies with Dean Tomczak.

Mr. Tomczak joined the faculty at Genesee Community College as an instructor of psychology in the fall semester of 1987, and was promoted to the rank of Professor effective fall 2007. He was appointed Director of Social Sciences in 2013 and Dean of HCB in 2019. Tim is a three-time SUNY Chancellor’s Award winner: Excellence in Teaching (1994); Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities (2007); and Excellence in Faculty Service (2018).

Tim holds a B.A. in Psychology from Mercyhurst University and an M.A. in General Experimental Psychology from the State University College of New York at Geneseo.

Dean Tomczak oversees the following academic programs: Creative Arts, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Liberal Arts (General Education Certificate, General Studies, and Humanities and Social Sciences), Teaching and Education, and Transitional Studies. In addition, he shares responsibility for the Individualized Studies program with Dr. RAM.

Mr. Edward Levinstein joined Genesee Community College as a Program Specialist in the fall of 2002. He was promoted to Associate Dean of Accelerated College Enrollment Programs in 2007 and appointed as Dean of Distributed Learning in August, 2022. Throughout his twenty-year career in higher education, Ed has been active in the community through board, committee and volunteer work that includes the Business and Education Alliance of Genesee County, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County, Tonawanda Valley Federal Credit Union, and the New York Concurrent Enrollment Partnership. He currently serves as a member of the PTECH steering committee, Genesee Valley BOCES School Board and as Vice President of the Pembroke Central School Board.

Ed holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego and an M.A. in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Brockport.

Dean Levinstein oversees the Accelerated College Enrollment Programs, Online Learning, GCC Campus Centers, and the Upward Bound and Liberty Partnerships grant programs.
